Georgian Dolls Houses (from left Sudbury, Cambridge and Ely) and a Regency Dolls House (Bloomsbury)

What is sAnglia Dolls House Georgian dolls house logo is based on front elevation of a Wisbech Housepecial about an Anglia Dolls House?
I specialise in the creation of high quality fully finished 1/12th scale Georgian dolls houses for the discerning adult enthusiast*. My Georgian and Regency dolls houses are:

Ready to "move in" - no need for any DIY. All Anglia Dolls Houses are fully painted, have scored stain-varnished wooden floors with lift up boards to conceal wiring, flag-paved basements with period kitchen details and other rooms have chimney breasts with plaster fireplaces, skirting, wainscoting, dado, cornice, architraves and ceiling mouldings fitted as standard.

Architecturally consistent - there are stairs between floors in realistic locations; chimney breasts align with chimney stacks and have a pot for each flue; rooms are proportioned according to purpose; etc.

Unique - each house is handmade and particular attention is paid to the main entrance hall and hand crafted wooden staircases which provide an immediate clue that the house is not factory made from MDF.

Built to last - crafted from birch plywood, to pass on to the next generation.

Purchase
Prices for the standard houses are shown in Range Summary and Prices on this website. As many customers prefer to commission a bespoke build, option prices are available separately.

Many of my houses are purchased as a special anniversary or retirement present. Houses are sometimes available ex-stock but normally there is a waiting list. A deposit is required on all orders for new builds which can take anything from 6 to 12 weeks to build depending on specification and workload.

Options and bespoke builds
I'm happy to discuss changes to specification on bespoke orders, see Bespoke Builds on the Houses menu for more information. Options include choice of exterior finish (see Range summary & prices page for details) and room full panelling with contrasting field colours above the dado rails in the reception rooms, additional ceiling mouldings, fully wired electric lighting and customer choice of room colours from the Farrow & Ball colour card.

Electric lighting

All my Georgian dolls houses include a fused electric socket strip from which wiring can be concealed under lift up floorboards and also down the chimney breasts. Sockets are provided as standard for the connection of hearth lights in the supplied fireplaces and inglenook arches for kitchen ranges. Depending on the house configuration, the chimney breasts can be detached to allow insertion of additional wiring. To protect the electric plugs and sockets and to allow the dolls house to be located flush to a wall, a concealed cavity is provided either behind cupboard stairs or under the roof within which the main socket strip is hidden. No soldering or drilling for ceiling lights is required, simply use the plug and socket system in the holes, channels and sockets already provided.

Many customers are nervous about wiring, drilling for wall lights or find miniature socket wiring too fiddly so I offer a competitively priced optional fixed content lighting/transformer package that has been carefully configured for each house. When I install the lighting in a house I also supply an additional flush fitting back panel to conceal and protect the wires. When the house is delivered and installed you can plug it in and the lights just work. It couldn't be simpler and a fully lit Georgian dolls house is a really exciting conversation piece in your living room.

What to do next?
Drop me an email or call to request a brochure for the standard house that you are interested in.

Most customers like to make an appointment to visit me to discuss options over a cup of coffee and to see completed houses and houses under construction. This gives a chance to really appreciate what you can get for your money, what the options really look like and ensure that bespoke modifications are exactly what you want. If you wish to proceed with the purchase after the visit, I will draw up a specification that describes all the options and modifications that were discussed and send you this with a quotation.

*As with all collectors items an Anglia Dolls House is not a toy and is unsuitable for children.
